The media and the public so easily get swept up in a desire to learn and talk about the implementer of such a senseless act of violence. We turn our focus from the victims and their families, to the twisted individual who initiated such terrible pain, and in doing so, we give the shooter exactly the fame and attention that he desires. I’m sick of seeing the same photos of him plastered all over every newspaper front page. This article about Alex Sullivan, the son of my dad's cousin, pays homage to a beautiful life cut far too short.
